Singa Ship's Christmas Party |
| |
It was a joyful day for the Singa Group of companies employees last December 12, 2008 as they celebrated their annual Christmas Party at the Commodore’s Table. There were lots of games, singing, and dancing as well. The party was a time to relax and savor the good food. Everyone had a good time especially during the raffle portion as each one wanted to win the prizes on display.

Seabourn Conducts Last Recruitment Drive for Year 2008 |
| |
Seabourn Cruise Line held its last recruitment drive for year 2008. A test cooking was held for the following positions: chef de partie, demi chef de partie, bakers and butchers. On hand to oversee the recruitment drive were Andy Rowe, Recruitment Manager for Fleet Personnel and Guillame Colas, Corporate Training Manager. The test cooking was supervised by Sous Chef Roderick de Guzman and CDP Rodel Sadiwa for hot and cold galley and Pastry Chef Elson de Asis. The applicants came early and right after the orientation given by Mr. Rowe, they donned their chefs’ uniforms and showed their culinary skills. |

Andrew Rowe Bids Singa Ship Goodbye |
| |
Mr. Andrew Rowe, Seabourn’s affable Recruitment Manager, bids Singa Ship goodbye. It was his last visit last November 26-27, 2008 as he announced his early retirement from Seabourn. For Andy, as he is fondly called, it was a personal decision and he said he was happy with his decision. Andy is a familiar face everytime Seabourn conducts a recruitment drive. His task was to give orientation to applicants informing them of Seabourn’s background and what to expect when working on the ship. He would carry with him loads of Seabourn materials for the applicants to see. To Andy, you will surely be missed. We wish you luck in your new endeavor. |

Welfredo Valiente Makes it Big in Queen Victoria |
| |
To many of us, Welfredo was the guy with the Close-up smile. While on duty in Singa office prior to his first contract on board, he would always greet people with a big smile. But aside from the big smile, he performed his duties well and without complaint. All his hardwork paid off and to attest to this , he was awarded Star of the Month for August, 2008 and January, 2009, a month after he signed off in Queen Victoria. For someone like him, it was a big feat considering that it was his first contract as galley utility. Upon his return to the Philippines, he proudly showed off his awards. Congratulations Welfredo, keep up the good work. May this kind of accomplishment inspire others to work hard while on board and make us all proud. |

SSMPI Family Center Christmas Party |
| |
Last December 13, 2008, the SSMPI Family Center celebrated its annual Christmas Party with a raffle draw at the Makati Park & Garden, J.P. Rizal Ext., Guadalupe, Makati City. It was attended by the family and dependents of our crewmembers. Also in attendance are some vacationing crewmembers. It was truly a joyful celebration as there was a live music provided by the AFP band.
There were games for kids and adults alike. Intermission numbers were given by the talented children of our crewmembers; a dance number by Rodgie Bendol, song duet by the Abrantes brothers, yoyo exhibition by Jonathan Earl Santillana and, of course, a dance number by Nicole Tan.
A special Early Bird award was given to Mrs. Imelda Chan, who always comes early in every event. A Perfect Attendance award was given to Mrs. Weng Abrantes and Mrs. Angela Chong for being always present during the Family Center's monthly meeting for the year 2008. CONGRATULATIONS! |
